701. No hawker or peddler shall buy for sale out of the State or buy
to trade, barter or sell or offer to trade, barter or sell within the State,
and no person or persons or corporation not residents of the State of Mary-
land shall offer for sale by agents or otherwise within the State to con-
sumers any goods, wares or merchandise by sample or otherwise, either
with the purpose of an immediate sale and delivery, or with intent to
make future sales and deliveries unless such hawkers and peddlers, person
or persons or corporation shall first obtain from the clerk of the Circuit
Court for Prince George's County a license as provided by the preceding
section is so far as the same is applicable to Prince George's county; pro-
vided, however, that this Act shall not apply to sellers of bread, cakes or
crackers; and provided further, that nothing in this section shall apply
to hawkers or peddlers of oysters and fish in their unpreserved and natural
condition, or of fruits, vegetables and fresh meat perishable in their nature
that are sold in their natural condition in this State.

702. On and after July 1, 1929, it shall be unlawful to maintain or
operate a road house, restaurant, lunch-room, cafe, inn, hotel or club for
profit where public dancing is permitted more than once a week in Prince
George's County without first having obtained a license from the Board
of County Commissioners of said county, and shall pay for said license
one hundred dollars ($100) per year.
Before any license shall be granted under the provisions of this section,
application shall be made in writing to the said Board of County Com-
missioners, and a notice of said application, or applications, giving the
name or names, of the applicant or applicants, the location and nature of
the proposed business or enterprise in each instance and notifying all per-
sons to file protests or appear before the said Board on or before a day
to be named therein, shall be published at the expense of the applicant or
applicants in a newspaper of general circulation within Prince George's
County at least two weeks prior to the granting of any license hereunder.
The said Board of County Commissioners shall have the power to grant
or reject any application for a license under the provisions of this section,
and shall also have the power, after notice and a hearing, to revoke any
license granted hereunder; but if any license is revoked, a refund shall be
given for the unused portion of said license.
All licenses shall expire on July 1 each year. The proceeds from said
licenses shall be paid to the Road Committee of the respective election dis-
tricts in which the places of business so licensed are located for the use
of the roads of said district; provided, however, that if any of such places
are located within the limits of any incorporated town, then the proceeds
shall be paid to said town to be used for street improvements.
Any person or persons, firm or corporation violating any of the provi-
sions of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction
