560. In ordei to provide adequate protection from fire, the Mayor and
Common Council of Hyattsville, in Prince George's County, Maryland,
be and it is hereby authorized and empowered to purchase on a deferred
payment plan, on the faith and credit of said Town, one modern pumper
fire engine and equipment, at a price not to exceed Fifteen Thousand Dol-
lars, and to make, execute and deliver such note or notes or other evidence
of indebtedness as may be required to properly acknowledge and pay said
debt, which shall bear interest at not to exceed six per centum per annum.

561. In order to meet the indebtedness incurred under the foregoing
section, the Mayor and Common Council shall levy annually a tax suffi-
cient to pay off and discharge said debt within four years, said tax to be
levied and collected as other town taxes, and to be shown upon tax bills
separately in a column provided for the purpose

562. The Mayor and Common Council is also empowered and author-
ized hereby to levy and set aside from the general tax levy each year, in
addition to the amount authorized to be set aside under Chapter 238 of
the Laws of Maryland, 1908, a further sum of five cents on the hundred
dollars, making a total of ten cents on the hundred dollars in the aggre-
gate, for the maintenance, operation and care of the Fire Department of
said Town *
IMMIGRATION COMMISSION.

563. An Immigration Commission for the counties of Charles, Prince-
George's, St Mary's and Calvert, in Southern Maryland, is hereby cre-
ated and constituted, to be composed of the President of the University of
Maryland, and Joseph A Wilmer, of Charles County, William S Chi-
chester, of Prince George's County, Trueman Slingluff, of St Mary's
County, and Thomas Parran, of Calvert County, who are hereby desig-
nated as members of said Commission for the term beginning on the first
day of June, in the year 1922, and ending on the first day of October, in
the year 1924, or until their successors are appointed and qualified, as
hereinafter provided
In case of any vacancy occurring in the membership of said Commis
sion, such vacancy shall be filled bv the appointment, by the Governor of
Maryland, of some suitable person from the same county and for the
