FOXES.

1910, ch. 650, sec. 130. 1912 Code, sec. 246.

470. The sum of two dollars shall be paid by the county commissioners
to any person who may kill or destroy or cause to be killed or destroyed
any fox above the age of six months, as near as can be ascertained within
the limits of the county; provided, that before the killer of any fox in the
county shall be entitled to said compensation or reward he shall present
the scalp of the fox so killed to any justice of the peace of said county
and make oath before him that the fox, the scalp of which is so presented,
was taken and killed within the limits of the county, and such person shall
deliver to the justice said scalp, who shall forthwith entirely destroy the
same and give to such person a certificate for the same showing the number
of foxes killed by such person, which said certificate shall be sufficient evi-
dence for the county commissioners to pay the amount specified therein;
provided further, that no person killing a fox pursued by hounds, attended
by huntsman other than such huntsman, shall be entitled to said reward,
and that the oath herein required shall conform to this proviso and that the
owner of the dog first mouthing the fox shall be entitled to the compen-
sation under this section.

1922, ch. 462.

471 It shall be unlawful in Prince George's and Worcester Counties
for any person to shoot any fox while it is being pursued by hounds, or
to shoot or molest any hound while chasing a fox. Any person violating
the provisions of this Act shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon con-
viction, shall be fined not less than five dollars nor more than twenty-five
dollars for each and every offense.

472. The County Commissioners of Prince George's County are here-
by authorized and directed to pay to every person who is a citizen or tax-
payer of said county the sum of thirty cents for each hawk head produced
by him before a justice of the peace of said county and who shall present
to said commissioners a certificate to the effect from said justice of the
peace.

473. Before giving said certificate it shall be the duty of said justice
giving it to require the person producing said hawk head to make oath
that he killed said hawk, and it shall also be the duty of said justice to
destroy by burning each and every hawk head presented as aforesaid; and
each and every justice of the peace of said county shall make on or before
the first Monday in March in each and every year a sworn report to said
