qualified as voters, shall be erased from the books by said Board upon their
own initiative, or upon the affidavit of any bona fide resident of the town
that such person or persons are not residents of the town or are otherwise
disqualified and not entitled to register and vote in said town elections
And provided that am one who shall feel aggrieved at the action of the
said Board of Election Supervisors acting as such Board of Registration
shall have the right of appeal to the Circuit Court of Prince George's
County at any time within ten days after the last day of such registration
The list of registered voters so made shall be entered upon books duly
provided for the purpose, which shall be kept in the custody of the town
clerk, and open to public inspection at any and all times From the list
so made said Boaid of Registration and Election shall conduct the elec-
tion on the ensuing first Monday in July of each year

406. Any party desiring to run for said Mayor, Treasurer and Coun-
cilman of said town shall be at least 23 years of age, and shall have resided
within the corporate limits of said town at least two years prior to election,
and any person desiring to run for said Mayor and Tieasurer of said town
shall file with the Boaid of Supervisors, as provided for in Section 405
of this Article, a petition containing the names of at least 20 voters of the
Town of Edmonston, and any person desiring to lun for Councilman
from his ward shall file a petition with said Board of Election Super-
visors containing the names of at least 10 voters in his ward, within fifteen
days previous to election, when said petitions have been filed and the
time for their filing having expired, the Board of Election Supervisors
shall cause to be published in some manner as shall give general publicity,
the names of the petitioners who have filed their petitions in accordance
with this Act, and the positions to which they aspire

407. The Mayor, with the approval of the majority of the Town Coun-
cil, shall appoint the following subordmante officers,—Marshal, Health
Officer, Building Inspector, and Clerk, who shall hold office for the period
of one year, or until their successors are appointed and qualified The
Mayor and Town Council shall fix the amount and authonze the payment
of the salary of such subordinate officers, and shall prescribe their duties
except as herein provided
The Marshal and the Health Officer, with the approval of the Major
and Town Council, shall each appoint such assistant or assistants as the
Council will allow, who shall be paid compensation in such amount as may
be fixed by the Mayor and Town Council
The Clerk shall keep a careful record of minutes, proceedings and ordi-
nances, which shall be open to the inspection of all persons interested
therein, and shall safely keep all records and documents, issue licenses,
collect moneys therefor, and turn same over to the Town Treasurer He
