of the costs shall be similarly rendered to the County Commissioners of
Prince George's County who shall pay the same, and so alternating each
five years the actual work shall be done by the Road Authorities of one
of the said Counties and a bill for one-half of the costs thereof rendered
to the other County.

141. The County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County and the
County Commissioners of Prince George's County are hereby authorized,
empowered and directed to purchase the bridge over the Patuxent river
known as Hill's Bridge, together with the abutments and all other ap-
purtenances thereto belonging or appertaining, and to keep and maintain
the same as a free bridge at all times, if the owners thereof, will on or
before the first day of October, eighteen hundred and ninety-two, agree
to sell the same unto the said County Commissioners of Anne Arundel
County and the County Commissioners of Prince George's County at a
price not to exceed the sum of five thousand dollars.

If the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County and the County
Commissioners of Prince George's County shall not be able, by mutual
agreement to purchase said Hill's bridge from its owners, as provided
in this section of this subtitle, then and in that case, the said County
Commissioners of Anne Arundel County and the County Commissioners

of Prince George's County are hereby authorized, empowered and directed
to build a substantial bridge over said river, from some suitable point
on the Anne Arundel County shore of said river to a convenient and,
practicable point on the Prince George's County shore; and said bridge,
when built, shall be maintained and kept in proper repair by said County
Commissioners of Anne Arundel County and the County Commissioners
of Prince George's County, as a free bridge; provided that the entire
cost to said two counties, of said bridge, shall not exceed the sum named
in this Act.

The County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County and the County
Commissioners of Prince George's County are hereby authorized and
directed to levy on the assessable property of Anne Arundel and Prince
George's County, the former on the assessable property of Anne Arundel
and the latter on the assessable property of Prince George's County at
their regular annual levy for the year eighteen hundred and ninety-two
such a sum of money as may be necessary to carry out and secure the
provision of this Act, the expense thereof to be paid and borne one-third
by Prince George's County and two-thirds by Anne Arundel County.

The cost of maintaining said bridge so purchased or built, and keeping
it in safe repair and condition for public travel, shall be paid in equal
proportions by the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County and
the County Commissioners of Prince George's County; and they are
hereby authorized to levy upon the assessable property of the two said
counties such sums of money as may be necessary from time to time to

defray said costs in the proportions aforesaid.
