3746 ARTICLE 17.

the Registration Officials, it shall direct such Officials to correct their rec-
ords in accordance with its order, which said Registration Officials shall
forthwith do.

1927, ch. 177, sec. 7C.

116. Annually, after due notice printed in some county newspaper
having general circulation in the town, the Supervisors of Election shall
appoint two Clerks who shall receive five dollars each for each and every
day they may be required to serve, and conduct an election by ballot on
the fourth Monday of June, if not a legal holiday, and if a legal holiday,
then on the day following, for the election of officers provided for in Sec-
tion 111 of this subtitle. The polls shall be opened between the hours of
one and eight P. M. The Judges of Election shall prepare ballots contain-
ing the names of those persons who have complied with the provisions
specified in Section 119 of this subtitle, making them eligible to become a
candidate for the office for which they seek. The Mayor and Town Council
shall receive all returns of elections and determine all cases arising there-
under, except as otherwise provided by Section 115 of this Article, and
any voter who feels that he has been aggrieved by any ruling as to the elig-
ibility or his right to vote may file an appeal to the Circuit Court for
Prince George's County and the same shall be determined by said Court.

Any person offering to vote whose name shall appear upon the registra-
tion books and who shall establish his identity to the satisfaction of the
Judges of Election shall be furnished by one of the Judges with an official
ballot having the initials of said Judge thereon, and he shall then repair
to one of the booths or compartments provided and therein mark his bal-
lot with a pencil marking a cross (X) in the square opposite the name of
each candidate for whom he may desire to vote. He shall then fold the
ballot without displaying the marks thereon and return it to one of the
Judges of Election who shall in his presence deposit it in the ballot box.
Any voter who shall mar a ballot so that he cannot vote it may return said
ballot to the Judge and receive another in its stead, and he shall in the
same way be entitled to a third ballot, but no more. Said marred ballots
shall be immeidately cancelled by the Judges by endosing thereon the word
"Cancelled."

117. In the event the Mayor, Treasurer, or any Councilman, or any
or all of them, dies, resigns, or is removed from, office, his successor shall be
appointed or elected as follows: The Council shall elect one of its mem-
bers as Mayor to serve for the unexpired term or until his successor is
elected and qualified. The Mayor shall appoint any qualified person as
Councilman to serve the unexpired term of a Councilman who has died,
resigned, or been removed from office or elected to fill the unexpired
term of Mayor. The Mayor shall appoint, subject to the approval of
the Council a qualified person to serve as Treasurer to fill the unexpired
