1924, ch. 117, sec. 7.

652. For the purpose of making the improvements provided for in
section 649 of this subtitle, or for making improvements from time to time
other than maintenance and repairs, the said committee is hereby author-
ized and empowered to borrow money and otherwise contract indebtedness
and obligate said village of North Chevy Chase in amounts not exceeding
in the aggregate at any time, ten per centum of the assessed valuation of
all property within said village, and for these purposes said North Chevy
Chase shall be and is hereby constituted a corporation, and the said Citi-
tens' Committee of said North Chevy Chase is empowered to act for said
corporation without in any way being held individually or personally liable
in connection therewith.

653. The Treasurer of said Citizens' Committee of said North Chevy
Chase, Maryland, shall deposit all funds coming into his possession as such
treasurer in accordance with the requirements of law for the deposit of
county funds by the County Treasurer, or in such other bank as may be
approved by the said committee of said village; provided that the said
treasurer of said committee shall not dispose of any of the funds coming
into his hands as such treasurer except upon check duly signed by him as
treasurer and countersigned by the chairman or some member of the said
committee acting as chairman pro tem; such acting chairman shall be duly
authorized to act by resolution of said committee which must first be
spread upon the minutes of the said committee.

NORTHWEST PARK.

1918, ch. 178, sec. 1.

654. For the purposes of this Act the village of Northwest Park,
Montgomery County, Maryland, as hereinafter described, shall constitute
a special tax area or district and shall be deemed and taken to comprise
all parcels of land embraced in the subdivision in said Montgomery County
called "Northwest Park" as per Revised Plat No. 134 recorded in Plat
Book No. 2 one of the land records for said Montgomery County.

655. The Board of County Commissioners of Montgomery County are
hereby authorized, empowered and directed to levy and cause to be collected
from the property owners at the time of the county tax levy for the year
commencing July 1, 1919, and ending June 30, 1920, and each succeed-
ing year, within the said village known as Northwest Park, as named and
created by this Act, thirty-five (35) cents on each one hundred ($100.00)
dollars of the assessable value of the real and personal property in said
village, to be collected as all other county taxes in said county are col-
lected; to be paid over by the said Board of County Commissioners to the
treasurer of the Village of Northwest Park, herein authorized to be cre-
