1922, ch. 262, sec. 25.

265. The County Commissioners or the clerk to said board shall not
be entitled to charge or receive any additional compensation for their
services in relation to any duties performed under the provisions of this
subtitle.*

1924, ch. 445.

266. The County Commissioners of Montgomery County are hereby
authorized, empowered and directed to pay to the County Commissioner,
or other individual acting a,s Superintendent of the County Farm, a yearly
salary of six hundred ($600) dollars, payable monthly, and the said.
County Commissioners of Montgomery County are hereby further directed
to include said salary in the annual levy for taxes in Montgomery County.

CRIER.

1908, ch. 31, sec. 67. 1912, ch. 790, sec. 168.

267. The crier of the Circuit Court for Montgomery County shall be
entitled to and receive as a salary the sum of three hundred and sixty
dollars per annum, payable in an ma of thirty dollars per month, which,
shall be in full and lieu of the allowances now authorized by law, and the
Commissioners of Montgomery County are authorized and directed at
their next meeting for making the county levy, and annually thereafter,
to levy on the assessable property in said county for the use of the crier,
such sum of money as shall be sufficient for the payment of said salary
of said crier.

CRIMES AND PUNISHMENTS.
1929, ch. 301, sec. 168-A.

268. In addition to any sentence of confinement in the county jail of
Montgomery County which may be imposed for failure to pay any fine
or fines by the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, or any justice
of the peace for Montgomery County having criminal jurisdiction,
said Court or justice shall also in said sentence direct that any
prisoner over sixteen years of age who may be so sentenced shall be
subject to perform for and during the period of his imprisonment on the
public roads of Montgomery County or on the public streets of any special
taxing area in said county; provided, that during the employment of such
prisoner on the public streets of any special taxing area, the authorities
of said special taxing area so employing the prisoner shall be charged
with the expense which may attend such employment, and, provided fur-
ther, that this Act shall not apply to female prisoners.

269. The labor provided for in the preceding section shall be per-
formed under the supervision and direction of the County Commissioners,
