127. For the purpose of providing funds with which to establish,
maintain and operate a fire department within the area in the Seventh
Election District in said Montgomery County, particularly designated and
described, and lying and being within the bounds, courses and distances
as follows, to wit: Beginning at the intersection of the center line of Wis-
consin Avenue with the Western, boundary line of the District of Columbia
and running thence northerly along said western boundary line of the
District of Columbia to the intersection of Lot 14 "Pinehurst" and Pine-
hurst Circle; thence following the western are of Pinehurst Circle to the
eastern line of Lot 17 "Pinehurst"; thence northerly along the eastern
line of said Lot 17 "Pinehurst" to the eastern line of Martin's Third
Addition to Chevy Chase; thence following the eastern line of Martin's
Third, First, Second and Fourth Additions to Chevy Chase to the south
line of the H. M. Griffith property; thence west along the south line of the
H. M. Griffith property and a prolongation of the south line of said H. M.
Griffith property to the west line of Brookeville Road; thence north along
the west line of Brookeville Road to the east line of the property of the
Chevy Chase Land Company; thence north along said east line of the
property of the Chevy Chase Land Company to the south right of way
line of the Metropolitan Southern Branch of the Baltimore & Ohio Rail-
road; thence west along said south right of way line of the Metropolitan
Southern Branch of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad to the east line of the
property of the Columbia Country Club; thence south along said east line
of the property of the Columbia Country Club and a prolongation of said
east line of the property of the Columbia Country Club to the middle
line of Cypress Street; thence following the northern and western bound-
ary lines of Section 4 of the Village of Chevy Chase as described in Chap-
ter No. 317 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1924, and a prolonga-
tion of the western boundary line of said Section 4 of said Village of
Chevy Chase to the south line of Bradley Lane and the north line of the
property of the Chevy Chase Club; thence east along said north line of
the property of the Chevy Chase Club to Connecticut Avenue; thence in a
southerly and westerly direction along the east and south lines of the prop-
erty of the Chevy Chase Club to the center line of Wisconsin Avenue;
thence south along the center line of Wisconsin Avenue to the place of be-
ginning, the County Commissioners of said Montgomery County are hereby
authorized and empowered to levy annually against all of the real and
personal property within said area a tax sufficient, but not in any event
more than fifteen (51 cents on each $100.00 of the assessable value
