2754 ARTICLE 12.

commissioners are authorized to co-operate with the owner of such fence
to replace the same by a wire fence, and only where absolutely necessary
to prevent drifting of snow, and by so many strands of wire as will be
necessary for the free passage of snow through the same; and in all cases
the county commissioners are authorized to purchase wire for the making
of such fences; provided, that the owner thereof will furnish the labor
required in the erection of such wire fence at his own cost; and they are
authorized to levy the cost of such wire upon the assessable property of
said county, as other county expenses are now levied.

FIREARMS.

1904, ch. 177, sec. 1.

179. It shall be unlawful for all persons under the age of fifteen years
to carry or 'have in his or her possession any shot gun, rifle, revolver or
other firearm of any description within the limits of Garrett County.

1904, ch. 177, sec. 2.

180. Any person convicted of violating this Act before any court of

competent jurisdiction shall be fined not less than five dollars nor more
than twenty dollars, or be imprisoned in the county jail for not less than
ten nor more than thirty days for each and every offense.

1904, ch. 177, sec. 3.

181. All fines imposed and collected for violation of this Act shall be
paid to the County Commissioners of Garrett County to be used by them
in the improvement of the public roads in said county.

FIRE DEPARTMENTS.

1927, ch. 408, sec. 1. 1929, ch. 41, sec. 1.

182. The County Commissioners of Garrett County are hereby au-
thorized, empowered and directed to pay the sum of Six Hundred Dol-
lars ($600.00) annually to the Oakland Volunteer Fire Department, and
the sum of Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) annually to the Grantsville
Volunteer Fire Department, so long as each of said fire department re-
mains an active fire fighting organization, for their benefit, said sums of
money to be used by the said fire departments for the purchase, repair
or maintenance of fire fighting equipment.

1929, ch. 41, sec. 2.

183. Such payments shall be made on the first day of September in

each and every year by the County Commissioners of Garrett County.

1929, ch. 41, sec. 3.

184. The County Commissioners of Garrett County are hereby author-
ized, directed and empowered to levy the sum of Eight Hundred Dollars
