1900, ch. 161, sec. 30D.

63. Any person appointed stenographer as aforesaid, who shall violate
or permit to be violated in any manner any of the provisions of this Act
as to accuracy, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction
thereof shall be fined not less than twenty-five nor more than five hundred
dollars, or to be confined in jail for a period of not less than one year, or
be both fined and imprisoned, in the discretion of the court.

64. The person so selected and appointed stenographer, as provided
in this Act, shall serve only during the session of the particular grand
jury for which he was appointed, or for such special cases as may be re-
quired, which shall clearly appear in the order of his appointment. He
shall receive a proper compensation for his services, to be determined by
order of the Circuit Court, and fixed, not exceeding the amount of five
dollars per diem when he shall be employed, and he shall be allowed such
reasonable expenses as the court may be deemed proper and right; he shall
be paid by the County Commissioners in like manner, as the members of
the grand jury are paid upon certificates of the Clerk of the Circuit Court,
when duly appointed by one of the judges of said court; provided, how-
ever, that the amount of compensation and expenses of said stenographic
clerk shall not exceed the annual sum of three hundred dollars.

BAILIFF.

65. The County Commissioners of Garrett County shall levy annually
for the bailiff of the Circuit Court for said county, three dollars and fifty
cents ($3.50) per day for his services as such bailiff, and the treasurer
of said county shall pay said bailiff at the close of each session of the
court for his services during said session.

CRIER.

1890, ch. 192. 1927, ch. 52.

66. The County Commissioners of Garrett County shall levy annually
for the crier of the Circuit Court for said county three dollars and fifty
cents ($3.50) per day for his services as such crier, and the treasurer for
said county shall pay said crier at the close of each session of the court for
his services during said session.

67. The Judges of the Fourth Judicial Circuit of Maryland, are
hereby authorized and directed to appoint two Official Court Stenog-
