266 ARTICLE 1A.

Ward No. 5, Precinct No. 2—Comprising all that part of Ward No. 5
beginning at the intersection of the center line of Park Street with Wil-
liams Street, and running thence with the center line of Williams Street
and with Williams Road easterly to the city limits, and with the city
limits northerly to Baltimore Avenue, and with the center line thereof
southwesterly to the intersection of the center line of Baltimore Street
with the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad, and with the center line of Balti-
more Street northeasterly to the center line of a part of Park Street
(formerly called McKaig's Alley), and with the center line of said part
of Park Street (formerly called McKaig's Alley) southeasterly to the
center line of Park Street and with the center line thereof southeasterly
to Williams Street, the place of beginning.

The Sixth Ward* of the City of Cumberland shall be divided into
three precincts, as follows:

Ward No. 6, Precinct No. 1—Comprising all that part of Ward No. 6
which is bounded on the north by the center line of Williams Road and
the same extended to the Potomac River, on the east by the city limits,

9. The Sixth Ward of the City of Cumberland shall be divided into three pre-
cincts as follows:

Ward No. 6, Precinct No. 1—Comprising all that part of Ward No. 6 which is
bounded on the North by the center line of Williams Road and the same extended
to the Potomac River, on the East by the City Limits, on the South by the center
line of the Oldtown Road and the same extended to the Potomac River, and on the
West by the Potomac River.

Ward No. 6, Precinct No. 2—Comprising all that part of Ward No. 6 which is
bounded on the North by the center line of the Oldtown Road and the same extended
to the Potomac River, on the East by the City Limits, on the South by the northerly
boundary of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company's right of way to where it
intersects the center line of Third Street extended to the Potomac River, and on
the West by the Potomac River.

Ward NO. 6, Precinct No. 3—Comprising all that part of Ward No. 6 which is
bounded on the North by the northerly boundary of the Baltimore and Ohio Rail-
way Company's right of way to where it intersects the center line of Third Street
extended Westward; and the center line of said Third Street extended to the Po-
tomac River; on the East by the City Limits; on the South by the City Limits; on
the West by the City Limits and the Potomac River.

And elections shall hereafter be conducted in said precincts as they now or may
hereafter be conducted under the Laws of the State of Maryland pertaining to the
City of Cumberland, or as shall be provided by ordinances duly passed by the
Mayor and City Council of Cumberland, and the Mayor and City Council of Cum-
berland is hereby authorized, directed and empowered to make provision by ordi-
nance duly passed for additional precincts in any of the wards of said city from
time to time whenever in their judgment or discretion it shall be deemed expedient
so to do for the convenience of the voters, and for such purpose the said Mayor
and City Council may from time to time change the boundary lines of any precinct
in the erection of any new precinct or precincts, but the boundary lines of no ward
shall be changed without the passage of an Act giving such authority by the Gen-
eral Assembly of Maryland, provided, however, that the Mayor and City Council
shall by ordinance extend the limits of said wards to the limits of the said city
as set forth in this Act, and shall create such precincts therein as said Mayor and
City Council shall deem necessary, and whenever the City Limits shall be extended
the portion taken in shall be deemed to become and is a part of the ward and
precinct to which it was contiguous before said City Limits were extended.
