the State, and if the appeal should be decided against the State, the costs
of the appeal shall be paid by the county commissioners of said county,
otherwise to be awarded against the railroad company.
RECEIVING OR PURCHASING POULTRY.

699. It shall not be lawful for any huckster, dealer or merchant to
receive or purchase from anyone in the corporation of Frederick City
between sunset and sunrise of the following morning, any turkeys, geese,
ducks, chickens or guinea fowls, either dead or live, and anyone violating
any of the provisions of this law shall, on conviction in the Circuit Court
for Frederick County, be fined not less than twenty-five dollars, or, in the
discretion of the Circuit Court for Frederick County, be committed and
confined in the Maryland House of Correction for not less than two
months, and not more than one year.

700. The register of wills shall annually continue the entire general
index of wills and administration and guardian accounts in his office.

701. If the judges of the Orphans' Court for said county, at any time
deem it necessary to transcribe any of the indexes of records in the office
of the register of wills for said county into a new book, they shall pass
an order requiring the register of wills for said county to transcribe such
index, which order, when passed, shall be faithfully executed by the reg-
ister of wills and made in a book well bound for that purpose.

702. The costs of said books shall be paid by the county commissioners,
and the register of wills shall be annually paid for transcribing such
indexes, and for continuing said general indexes out of the surplus pro-
ceeds of his offices; and if there be no surplus, then the county commis-
sioners shall allow him such compensation, annually, as they think fair
and reasonable.

dents living along any public road or portion of a public road in Frederick
County, including only such residents who have no outlet to any other
public road, the county commissioners of said county shall remove or cause
to be removed such snowdrifts as may render such road or portion of road
