MYERSYILLE.

1904, ch. 94, sec. 1. 1918 Code, sec. 590.

613. The inhabitants of the village of Myersville and its vicinity, in
Frederick County, are a body corporate by the name of "Burgess and
Council of Myersville," and by that name may have perpetual succession,
sue and be sued, and have and use a common seal.

614. The taxable limits of the said Town of Myersville begin at the
northwest end of the village of Myersville boundary line according to plat
filed of the lands of the U. B. Church, Lydia Routzahn and Masheim
Metzger, where the said lands and the road leading from Myersville to
St. John's Church intersect the old Hagerstown road. From said point
running the entire length of Main Street, with the following courses and
distances, as surveyed by Charles D. Eldridge on December 24, 1901:
South 32 degrees 5 minutes, east 219 yards; south 17 degrees 25 minutes,
east 100 yards; south 11 degrees 50 minutes, east 76 yards; south 6 de-
grees 0 minutes, east 174 yards; south 2 degrees 15 minutes, east 150
yards; south 6 degrees 25 minutes, west 312 yards; south 20 degrees 35
minutes, west 367 yards to intersection of George L. Tour's and Enos
Routzahn's lands and private road to the Shank farm; thence south 7
degrees and 45 minutes, east 60 yards, said line being the center line run-
ning entire length of corporation; and the corporation to extend 1,100
feet on the right and left side of said line through Main Street, and the
police powers of said corporation shall extend to the distance of one-half
mile in all directions beyond taxable limits.

615. The male citizens of Myersville at the age of twenty-one years
and upwards, who have resided in said town for one year, shall, on the
first Monday of May, A. D. 1922, and every two years thereafter, on the
same day, elect by ballot a Burgess and three Councilmen, all of whom
shall have resided in said town for twelve months preceding the election,
and who are real estate owners in said town, and who shall have been
nominated for such office by a petition containing the signatures of ten
or more voters of said town and filed with the Burgess at least ten days
before said election. The Councilmen together with Burgess shall consti-
tute the Council, and from and after the election to be held in 1920, the
Burgess shall receive the sum of fifteen dollars per annum, and the Coun-
cilmen shall each receive the sum of nine dollars per annum, as compensa-
tion for their respective services, to be paid annually out of the funds of
the said municipal corporation.

616. The first election held under the provisions of this Act shall be
held on the first Monday in May, in the year 1904, and the polls shall be
