2506 ARTICLE 11.

printed copy thereof issued by the authority and under the sanction of said
body, shall be legal evidence of the passage and of the contents of the ordi-
nances contained therein in any court of law or equity in this State, or
before any justice of the peace or public official of said State, and the
said, the Mayor and Aldermen of Frederick, may at any time provide by
ordinance for the codification or recodification of such ordinances as have
been passed or may hereafter be passed by them, and for the printing of
such codification or recodification, and the printed copy thereof issued by
authority and under the sanction of the Mayor and Aldermen of Frederick
shall be legal evidence of the passage of such ordinances and the contents
thereof in any court of law or equity in this State, or before any justice
of the peace or public official of said State.

306. All ordinances heretofore passed by the Mayor and Aldermen
of Frederick now in force, and not in conflict with the provisions of the
sub-title of this article, are continued in force until the same are repealed
and modified.

EXEMPTION FROM FIRE DUTY.

P. L. L., 1888, Art. 11, sec. 203. 1918 Code, sec. 331.

307. All persons of seventy years of age, residing in said city, shall be
exempt from all duty in relation to fire company meetings and fires, and
shall not be required by the said corporation, or the fire companies of said
city, to attend any such meetings, or to be present and assisting, and shall
not be fined for neglect to attend.

LIVERY STABLE KEEPERS.

P. L. L., 1888, Art. 11, sec. 258. 1892, ch. 287. 1918 Code, sec. 332.

308. It shall be lawful for any livery stable keeper in Frederick City
to retain in his custody any horse, mare or gelding, placed under his care
for livery, and also any vehicle, until all charges for so keeping shall have
been paid by the owner; and if such owner or agent of his shall, when
using such horse, mare, gelding or vehicle fail to return the same to such.
livery stable keeper, with intent to evade the payment of any livery
charges, due and unpaid, then it shall be lawful, at any time within thirty
days from date of such failure to return said property, for such livery
stable keeper to follow and seize such horse, mare, gelding or vehicle, and
to sell the same as provided in Sectior. 309 of this Article (the succeeding
section).

horse, mare or gelding, or vehicle, at public auction, for cash, in Frederick
