constables for Dorchester County, to wit: for election district number one,

election district number five, two justices of the peace and one constable;

345. The Governor of Maryland is hereby authorized to appoint a
justice of the peace for Williamsburg District, Dorchester County.

authorized and empowered to appoint an additional constable for Elec-
tion District Number Five (East New Market), Dorchester County; pro-
vided, that said constable shall reside in the Town, of East New Market.

347. Every summons in a civil action and every writ of replevin issued
by a justice of the peace of said county shall be made returnable before
the justice who issues the same or some other justice of the same district,
or to some justice of the district where the defendant or one of the defend-
ants reside, and at or before the return day of the summons or writ of re-
plevin, or upon the arrest of the defendant and the return of the writ or
warrants the defendant may notify the justice before whom the return is
made that he elects to have the case removed before some other justice for
trial, and thereupon such justice shall transmit the papers in the case with
