2276 ARTICLE 10.

constitute the whole time the said officials may be employed in one sitting,
that is, from the opening of the polls until the final completion of the
work; the return judges in all districts, except District No. Y, shall re-
ceive $5.00 for each day upon which the registry, books are returned and
in District No. 7, the return judges shall receive $2.50 for each day upon
which the said registry books are returned, and that all such compensa-
tion as herein provided as well as the other expenses of elections and reg-
istrations as regulated by the General Election Laws of this State shall
be paid by the Treasurer of Dorchester County upon vouchers therefor
approved by the Board of County Commissioners and the Board of Elec-
tion Supervisors.

284. The Board of Supervisors of Election shall cause to be printed
for use in any general election not more than twenty-five per cent, more
ballots than the total number of registered voters, and the said Board of
Supervisors of Election shall cause to be printed for use in any primary
elections not more than twenty-five per cent, more ballots than the num-
ber of voters registered in the respective party for which the ballots are
printed.

285. It shall not be necessary for the Board of Supervisors of Election
to deliver to the sheriff any ballots for distribution by him to any deputies,
nor shall the sheriff detail or be required to detail any deputies at any
of the polling places.

286. The Board of Supervisors of Election shall cause to be sent to
each polling place for each general election a number of ballots not greater
than twenty-five per cent, more than the total registered voters at said
polling place, and the said Board of Supervisors of Election shall cause
to be sent to each polling place for each primary election a number of
ballots not greater than twenty-five per cent, more than the total number
of persons registered at such polling place for each respective party who
may have candidates to be voted upon in such election.

287. The judges of election, in addition to the authority already con-
ferred upon them by the General Election Laws, shall have authority to
direct the bailiff or doorkeeper at any election to make arrests for any
breach of the peace or violation of the election laws as fully and com-
pletely as the said judges or a deputy sheriff would or could make.

1924. ch. 538, sec. 6.

288. All of the provisions of the aforegoing sections shall equally apply
to primary elections as well as general elections, unless otherwise herein-
before stipulated, in so far as the same may be applicable.
