in the office of the county jail so that it may be read by those who desire
to do so. Any false swearing in the report of the Sheriff or affidavit
thereof to the Board of County Commissioners shall be deemed perjury
and be punished as such. The said Sheriff shall also include in his month-
ly report a full statement of all fines and costs by him collected, and shall
pay the same over to the County Treasurer. Any violations of the require-
ments of this Act or failure to comply therewith shall constitute a mis-
demeanor and be punished upon conviction by forfeiture of office, and
fine or imprisonment or by all three, in the discretion of the Court.

624. All parts of Acts inconsistent with this Act are hereby repealed
and the fact that any part of this Act shall hereafter be declared by the
courts to be unconstitutional shall not affect the parts otherwise con-
stitutional.
STATE'S ATTORNEY.

625. That on and after the expiration of the present term of office of
the State's Attorney for Allegany County in lieu of the fees now paid
for the discharge of the duties of his office, there shall be paid to him
by the County Commissioners of the said County a yearly salary of three
thousand dollars, payable quarterly by a warrant on the Treasury and
it shall be unlawful for him to receive, or the said County Commissioners
to pay him any other or further compensation, salary, fee or recompense
of any kind whatsoever. It shall be the duty of the Sheriff to collect and
pay over to the County quarterly, any appearance or other fee taxed as
a part of the cost payable to the State's Attorney in any criminal case.

626. From and after the time of the passage of this Act, it shall be the
duty of the State's Attorney for Allegany County to maintain a Bureau
of Identification, and he shall employ subject to the approval of the
County Commissioners of Allegany County a competent man at a salary
of two hundred dollars a month to conduct the work of this Bureau. The
County Commissioners of Allegany County shall pay direct the necessary
expenses for the maintenance of this Bureau not to exceed two hundred
and seventy-five dollars a month as follows: Expert's salary, two hundred
dollars a month; rent not in excess of thirty dollars a mouth; printing
stationery, telephone, stamps, and any other expenses that may be neces-
sary for the maintenance of this Bureau not to exceed forty-five dollars
a month, and shall levy for the same as expenses of the State's Attorney's
office. These bills must be presented direct to the County Commissioners
made out and sworn to on the regular forms now in use by the County
Commissioners, and must be certified to by the State's Attorney, and all
