224 ARTICLE 1.

of not less than seven hundred eight dollars ($708.00) more than such
principal's salary would be as an assistant according to this Act.

1920, ch. 379, sec. 14.

619. Each, every and all salaries mentioned in Sections 607, 608, 609,
611, 612, 613 and 614 of this Article, shall be increased sixty dollars
($60.00) for scholastic year nineteen hundred twenty-one and twenty-two
(1921-1922). Annually thereafter said salaries shall be and remain not
less than the basis herein provided for the scholastic year nineteen hundred
twenty-one and twenty-two (1921-1922).

620. The County Commissioners of Allegany County are hereby au-
thorized and required at their next annual levy and annually thereafter to
levy such sum or sums, upon the request of the County Superintendent of
Schools for Allegany County, as shall be necessary to meet the increase of
salaries above provided for, in addition to the money which the said Coun-
ty Commissioners of Allegany County are now required by law to levy for
teachers' salaries, and that said County Commissioners of Allegany Coun-
ty shall pay the said money over to the Board of Education of Allegany
County for the purpose set forth in this Act.*

1896, ch. 201.

621. The Board of County School Commissioners of Allegany County
are hereby required hereafter to pay the salaries of the teachers of public
schools in said county monthly; and that said teachers are hereby required
to make their reports to the said Board of School Commissioners for Alle-
gany County, monthly, instead of quarterly; failure on part of said com-
missioners so to pay shall be punished by a fine of twenty-five dollars for
each case.

622. In the event the fees collected in criminal and civil cases by the
Sheriff of Allegany County shall not in any one year equal the sum of
three thousand dollars ($3,000.00), the County Commissioners of Alle-
gany County shall levy for said Sheriff's compensation a sum sufficient
when added to the amount received from said fees, as shown by the
Sheriff's annual report to the Comptroller, a duplicate of which shall be
filed with the County Commissioners, to make said Sheriff's compensa-
tion for said year amount to the sum of three thousand dollars ($3,000.00).
If after the filing of said yearly report said Sheriff shall collect any addi-
tional fees for said year then same shall be paid by him to the County
