missioners shall neglect or refuse to set apart the sum of five hundred
dollars in each and every year, as aforesaid, to provide a sinking fund,
or shall appropriate or expend the said funds or any part thereof for any
purpose whatsoever, except for the purpose of taking up and paying off
the bonds hereby authorized to be issued, each and every one of said Com-
missioners who consents to the misappropriation of the moneys belonging
to said sinking fund shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and on conviction
thereof shall be fined or imprisoned, as the court or justice trying the case
may determine; provided, that no Commissioners, so found guilty, shall
be fined over one hundred dollars, or be imprisoned in the county jail
for more than six months, for each and every offense. Any fines imposed
under this sub-section shall be paid to the treasurer of said town, to be
used for the corporate purposes of said Town of Cambridge.

107. It shall not be lawful for any master, owner or person in charge
of any boat, canoe or vessel, or for any other person, to cast or throw over-
board any anchor, ballast, scrape, dredge or other heavy instrument with-
in ten feet on either side of the pipe or water main of the Cambridge
Water Company across Cambridge Creek in Dorchester County; provided,
that the said Cambridge Water Company shall keep the line of said pipe
marked or buoyed, by placing at least three buoys thereupon.

Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this section or
who shall wilfully, maliciously or negligently destroy or injure said water
pipe, or who shall remove, displace or injure any of said buoys, shall be
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, before any
justice of the peace of Dorchester County, shall be fined not less than ten
nor more than fifty dollars, in the discretion of the justice trying the same,
and be committed to the county jail until such fine and costs are paid.

108. It shall not be lawful for any individual, co-partnership or firm,
who are non-residents of the City of Cambridge, in Dorchester County,
to open a room or place of business, for the purpose of selling goods, wares
and merchandise, at auction, or by any temporary expedients at variance
with the regular licensed system of mercantile business in the said city,
without first applying to the Clerk of the Circuit Court of the said county,
for a special auction license to sell in the said city, and to pay therefor
the sum of three hundred dollars, the said license to be non-transferable.

Any individual, co-partnership or firm, who are non-residents as afore-
said, who shall attempt to violate the provisions of this section, in not
having procured a license as required therein, shall be subject to a penalty
of one hundred dollars for each offence, one-half to the use of the State,
and the other half to the corporation of the City of Cambridge.
