ness of the City of Cambridge outstanding during said year, (b) the prin-
cipal of all serial bonds and indebtedness of the City of Cambridge due
during said year, and (c) an annual pro rata contribution to the sinking
fund for all bonds and indebtedness of the City of Cambridge not maturing
serially, which sinking fund shall be calculated so as to pay at maturity
the principal of all such bonds and indebtedness of the City of Cambridge
not maturing serially. The power and duty of the Commissioners of
Cambridge at all times to levy a sufficient sum of money to pay principal
and interest on all duly authorized and outstanding bonds and other in-
debtedness of the City of Cambridge shall be unlimited. The Commis-
sioners of Cambridge, in making the annual levies herein provided for,
shall do so item by item, specifying the departments of the city for which
the levy is made, and the amount to be expended therein. They shall in
the month of March in each and every year by order noted in the minute
book, and a copy thereof served upon the town clerk, treasurer and col-
lector or any other official receiving and collecting revenue for said city,
require the said official to make a final settlement with the town clerk,
treasurer and collector, on or before the 30th day of June following. And
the said Commissioners shall not expend any more money in any fiscal
year than is received by them from all sources of revenue, due and owing
to the said city. And any Commissioner or Commissioners voting to au-
thorize such expenditure in excess of the amount levied and received as
aforesaid, shall be personally responsible for the payment of any sum or
sums of money paid in excess of the amount so levied and received.

62. Each of the five Commissioners shall receive the sum of not more
than five dollars for his attendance at each regular meeting of the Board
of Commissioners. The Mayor, in addition to the sum which he receives
as Commissioner, shall receive a further sum of one hundred dollars per
year as Mayor. Neither the Mayor nor any Commissioner shall receive
from the corporate funds any other or further sum of money or compensa-
tion than is provided by this section, except such expenses as he may
incur in executing some special service as Commissioner, and except such
other sums as he is now authorized to receive for his services in the per-
formance of duties imposed upon him by the Charter of Cambridge in
meetings of the Commissioners for specified proposes other than the reg-
ular meetings of the board, that the five dollars herein provided to be
paid each Commissioner for his attendance at each regular meeting of the
board shall be paid for but one meeting in each week.
