hereby empowered to borrow such amount of money as may be necessary
to meet the cost of such construction and to pledge the credit of the said
counties to the payment of the same.

BRIDGE AT HARRISON FERRY.

30. The County Commissioners of Dorchester County are hereby au-
thorized and empowered, in their discretion, to contract for the construc-
tion of a bridge across the northwest fork of the Nanticoke River, in said
county, at a point called Harrison Ferry, and the placing of a draw there-
in, so as to provide better facilities for navigation, as well as for the safety
and convenience of the public in passing over said bridge.

BRIDGE AT CAMBRIDGE.

31. The County Commissioners of Dorchester County are hereby au-
thorized and empowered to contract for the repairing of the bridge across
Cambridge Creek, in the town of Cambridge, in said county, and the plac-
ing of a wider draw therein, so as to provide better facilities for naviga-
tion, as well as for the safety of the public in passing over said bridge, and
also to improve said bridge in such a manner as said Commissioners may
deem proper.

SLAUGHTER CREEK BRIDGE.

32. The County Commissioners are empowered and authorized to regu-
late the travel over Slaughter Creek Bridge; to bring action at law to
recover damages against any person who may injure said bridge by vio-
lent or careless driving, by making fast thereto vessels or scows, or dam-
aging the said bridge in any manner whatsoever; the damage so recov-
ered to be paid to the county treasurer.

BRIDGE AT BACK LANDING.

1910, ch. 502, sec. 1 (p. 682).

33. The County Commissioners of Caroline and Dorchester Counties
acting jointly are hereby directed and empowered to build a substantial
bridge over said river (Linchester) from Back Landing at a point where
the road from Preston to said river reaches said river to a convenient and
practicable point in Dorchester County, to be determined by the County
Commissioners of Dorchester County; and the said County Commissioners
of Caroline and Dorchester Counties are hereby directed and empowered
to acquire by inquisition, purchase, gift or otherwise, all the lands and
