1914, ch. 705.

117. In addition to the salary o:E the stenographer duly appointed
under the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland, the court stenog-
rapher of the Second Judicial Circuit, of the State of Maryland shall be
paid the sum of three hundred dollars ($300) per annum, in quarterly in-
stalments, accounting from the first day of April, 1914, for his expenses
as such stenographer; and the County Commissioners of Cecil County, of
Talbot County, of Kent County, of Queen Anne's County and of Caroline
County shall each pay the sum of sixty dollars ($60.00) thereof per an-
num, in quarterly payments as aforesaid.

CRIER AND BAILIFFS.

118. The crier of the Circuit Court for Cecil County, in addition to
the duties now imposed by law, shall have the care and custody of the
court room of said court and the furniture therein, and shall keep the
same in proper and safe condition, and said crier shall, during the ses-
sions of said court and at all other times, have the care of all books belong-
ing to said county and return the same to the clerk of said court.

119. The crier of the Circuit Court for Cecil County shall receive an
annual salary of two hundred and fifty dollars, to be paid by the County
Commissioners of Cecil County, semi-annually, from the first day of
April, eighteen hundred and ninety-four.

120. The County Commissioners are required to levy in advance a sum
of money estimated sufficient to pay the crier and such number of bailiffs
as are employed by the Circuit Court and they shall pay such sum of
money, as now is provided, to the crier of the court and shall pay the
bailiffs a per diem of five dollars or such other sum per diem as the said
court, or the clerk thereof, shall certify has been allowed to said bailiffs
for attendance in court.
