CARROLL COUNTY. 1720

The County Commissioners of Carroll County are hereby authorized
and required to levy upon the assessable property of said county as other
county charges are levied, a sum sufficient to pay for said indexing, unless
the receipts from said clerk's office shall be enough to pay for said work
after all his office expenses and salaries are paid, in which event it shall be
paid from the receipts of said office.

32. The Clerk of the Circuit Court for Carroll County is hereby au-
thorized to make a general index, according to the most modern and im-
proved system now in vogue, of the Court and Magistrate Judgment
Dockets from the year 1916 to the year 1930, inclusive, and of the Land,
Mortgage, Equity and other records in his office, from the beginning of
said records to the year 1930, inclusive.

33. The Clerk of the Circuit Court for Carroll County is hereby au-
thorized to let on contract the execution of the work of indexing said
records, as set forth in Section 34 hereof, subject to the approval of the
resident Judge of the Circuit Court for Carroll County.

34. The County Commissioners of Carroll County are hereby author-
ized and directed to levy upon the assessable property of said county a
sum sufficient to pay the costs of such indexing, and the Clerk of the
Circuit Court for Carroll County is hereby authorized to apply the excess
fees of his office for the fiscal years ending September 30, 1929, 1930,
1931, 1932, 1933, 1934 and 1935, after the payment of all the office ex-
penses and salaries of said Clerk and his deputies, or so much thereof as
may be necessary for that purpose, to the repayment to the County Com-
missioners of Carroll County of the amount so advanced by them for the
costs of such indexing.

35. The Clerk of the Circuit Court for Carroll County is hereby au-
thorized and directed to receive and safely keep and preserve, as are the
records of the Circuit Court for Carroll County, any books, proceedings,
records, original papers, or other matters or things deemed by the Carroll
County Managing Committee or Chairman, of the United War Work Cam-
paign, the Red Cross, the Liberty Loan Committee, or any other patriotic
organization participating in the civilian activities of the United States in
the recent World War, which records, books, papers or proceedings shall be
open to the inspection of any one interested therein. And said Clerk of the
Circuit Court for Carroll County, shall allow none of said books, papers,
records or proceedings to be taken from his office, except moving picture
