1. The County Commissioners shall employ the overseer of the alms-
house.

2. They shall visit the almshouse at least once in every three months,
either personally or by a committee of their number, to examine into the
condition and affairs of the institution; shall levy upon the assessable
property of the county for any actual or expected deficiency of means for
its support, and they shall themselves, or by a committee of one or more
of their number, make all sales and purchases that may be necessary
or proper in conducting the affairs of the farm and almshouse, and do
all other acts and things necessary for the proper management of the same.
