1336 ARTICLE 4.

of Baltimore County, at a special election to be held for this purpose on
the third Tuesday in May, 1888, for which election there shall be one
polling place in each of the existing election precincts of Baltimore County,
embracing any part of the territory described in the second section of
this Act; and all persons entitled to vote at said election shall vote at the
polling place within the election precinct in which they are or shall be
registered, and all the provisions contained in Section four of this Act
for the holding of the special election therein mentioned, and for ascer-
taining and declaring the result thereof, shall be applicable, to the elec-
tion to be held under this section, except that the judges and clerks of

•election shall be residents of and voters in that portion of Baltimore Coun-
ty described in the second section of this Act, and if it shall appear by
the proclamation of the Governor, so to be issued, that a majority of all
the votes cast at the election provided for in this section were cast for
the city extension, then from and after the first day of June, 1888, all
that part of Baltimore County described in the second section of this Act

shall become and be a part of Baltimore City.

Sec. 6. And be it further enacted, That the question of whether that
portion of Baltimore County described in the third section of this Act.
shall be annexed to and become a part of Baltimore City, shall be sub-
mitted to the qualified registered voters residing within the said portion
of Baltimore County, at a special election to be held for this purpose on
the third Tuesday in May, eighteen hundred and eighty-eight; for which
election there shall be one polling place in each one of the existing elec-
tion precincts of Baltimore County, embracing any part of the territory

described in the third section of this Act; and all persons entitled to vote
at said election shall vote at the polling place within the election precinct
in which they are or shall be registered; and all the provisions contained
in Section four of this Act for the holding of the special election therein
mentioned, and for ascertaining and declaring the result thereof, shall
be applicable to the election to be held under this section, except that the
judges and clerks of election shall be residents of and voters in that por-
tion of Baltimore County described in the third section of this Act; and
jf it shall appear by the proclamation of the Governor, so to be issued,
that a majority of all the votes cast at the election provided for in this
section are "For the city extension," then from and after the first day of
June, 1888, all that part of Baltimore County within the boundaries de-
scribed in the third section of this Act shall become and be a part of Bal-
timore City.

Sec. 7. And be it further enacted, That the elections mentioned in the
fourth, fifth and sixth sections of this Act shall be held in accordance
with the provisions of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland
relating to general elections in this State, so far as the same are applicable
and not inconsistent with the provisions of this Act; and for the preserva-
tion of peace and order at said elections, the Governor shall appoint for
