centage required under the special pension Act.

777F. Any officer of police, policeman, detective, clerk or turnkey
formerly employed as such or in a similar capacity by the County of
Baltimore or the County of Anne Arundel, as the case case may be, and
who, upon the going into effect of the Act of 1918, Chapter 82, of the
General Assembly, commonly known as the New Annexation Act, became
an officer of police, policeman, detective, clerk or turnkey of the City of
Baltimore, shall, for the purposes of sharing or participating in the Spe-
cial Fund of the Police Department of Baltimore City, provided for by
the sub-title of this Article, be entitled to and receive full credit for the
number of years and/or months and/or days he shall have been employed as
aforesaid by the County of Baltimore or County of Anne Arundel, as the
case may be; provided, however, that he shall first contribute and pay into
the Special Fund, if he shall have been employed by Baltimore County or
Anne Arundel County as the case may be, prior to 1900, a sum equivalent
to two per centum on the salary paid to him since the year 1900 and up
to the date when he became a member of the Police Force of Baltimore
City, or if he shall have been employed by either of said counties, sub-
sequently to the year 1900, a sum equivalent to two per centum on the
salary paid to him since the date of his employment and up to the date
when he became a member of the Police Force of Baltimore City; pro-
vided further, that he shall, if he has not already done so, pay into the
Special Fund two per centum of the salary paid to him, since the date
when he became a member of the Police Force of Baltimore City and
up to the date, when he makes the payment if he does so, herein provided
for; and provided further, that he shall have, in all other respects, com-
plied with the requirements of the Act creating the Special Fund and pro-
viding for its expenditure. The Police Commissioner is hereby author-
ized, empowered and directed to allow the credit provided for in this
section upon the fulfillment of the conditions herein provided.

778. The Police Commissioner for the City of Baltimore is authorized
to pay out of the special fund mentioned in section 776 of this Article,
the cost of the maintenance and operation of the police patrol boat recently
built, and manned by said Commissioner under authority conferred by
law on said Commissioner, including therein the wages of engineers and
firemen of said boat; and said Commissioner is authorized to appoint on
the force two officers for said boat, who shall be styled commander and
first officer, respectively, of the police patrol boat, and shall have the rank
and pay of Lieutenants of Police of the City of Baltimore.

779. The Police Commissioner for the City of Baltimore is hereby
