ALLEGANY COUNTY.

Seal for Identification of Papers.

1927, ch. 297, sec. 179L.

336. Said Justices shall impress upon all papers in every cause before
them to which their signature is attached, a seal, which shall be circular
in form, and on it shall be inscribed the words "Peoples Court, Cumber-
land, Md., 1927"; said seal shall have no significance, other than for the
purposes of identification and shall not be considered in any way as an act
in law.

Contiguous Election Districts.

1927, ch. 297, sec. 179M.

337. The Civil Jurisdiction herein conferred shall not only include
the Election Districts 4, 5, 6, 14, 22, 23 and 29, but shall include Election
Districts 1, 2, 3, 7, 16, 20 and 21 in case there is no qualified Justice of
the Peace in said districts.

Appellate Court.

1927, ch. 297, sec. 179N.

338. The Circuit Court for Allegany County is hereby declared to be
the Appellate Court for said Justices; to which all persons feeling ag-
grieved at the judgment of said Justices may appeal; all appeals shall be
tried de novo and the papers in each cause appealed, together with a
transcript of the docket entries, shall be certified to the Circuit Court.

Continuances.

1927, ch. 297, sec. 179-O.

339. Causes may be continued and the time for appeal may be ex-
tended by the Justice who presides in the cause; but no cause shall be
continued for a time longer than 20 days from the filing of the cause or
action, unless attorneys whose appearance is entered are engaged in other
Courts, or there is some cause beyond the control of the party seeking the
continuance.

Sessions of Court.

1927, ch. 297, sec. 179P.

340. Said Justices shall sit, and said Court shall be open for the con-
duct of business from 9.00 A. M. until 4.00 P. M. each day, Sundays,
Legal Holidays and the afternoons of Saturday in the months of June.
July and August excepted; and said Justices may determine the time for
regular sittings for the hearing of criminal and police cases; and they
may sit at any time they may consider necessary for the disposal of
emergency cases.
