323. All jurors summoned to attend upon the Circuit Court for Alle-
gany County shall receive as compensation the sum of four ($4.00) dol-
lars per day, together with an amount equal to ten ($0.10) cents per mile
for the distance from their respective residences to the City of Cumber-
land. Said mileage shall be paid to said Jurors for each and every day
they are summoned to attend upon said Court. All tales-Jurymen sum-
moned to attend said Court shall receive like compensation except those
summoned and residing in the City of Cumberland, who shall only receive
compensation in the event of acceptance as Jurymen.

324. There shall be appointed by the Governor, at the session of the
General Assembly of Maryland in the year 1929, two Justices of the
Peace for each Election District in Allegany County, who shall hold
office for such term as is now or may hereafter be provided by law; except
that for Election Districts Numbers 4, 5, 6, 14, 22, 23 and 29, in said
Allegany County, there shall be appointed two Justices of the Peace and
none other; said two Justices of the Peace, to be Justices of the Peace at
Large and to be known and styled "The Peoples Court" and to be so
appointed and possess the qualifications, jurisdiction and powers as is
hereinafter provided; and except that for Election Districts 8, 9, 10, 15,
18, 25 and 27 the provisions of subsequent sections of this Act shall apply.

325. Said two Justices of the Peace at Large hereinbefore provided
for, shall be appointed by the Governor, subject to confirmation by the
Senate of Maryland, for the term of two years and biennially thereafter;
their terms shall begin on the first Monday in May after their appoint-
ment, and they shall hold office until their successor or successors are duly
appointed and qualified; said two Justices shall be residents and duly
qualified voters in one of the election districts which are now or may here-
after be within their jurisdiction; they shall be at least twenty-five years
of age at the time of their appointment, and shall be duly qualified to
practice law and shall actually have practiced law for at least three years;
they shall be men of integrity; when so appointed they shall qualify before
the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Allegany County by subscribing and
taking the oath of office in the same manner as Justices of the Peace
now qualify, said Justices shall not during the term for which they are
