given, filed and approved, and all other provisions of this Act complied
with.

303. No license to sell spirituous or fermented liquors or lager beer in
Allegany County in the quantities prescribed in this Act shall be granted
to any person or persons other than citizens of the United States, of tem-
perate habits and good moral character, who have complied with the pro-
visions and requirements of this Act, to keep an oyster house, cook shop,
victualling house, tavern, lager beer saloon or for an ordinary license
to sell spirituous liquors in Allegany County in quantities not greater
than one quart at any one time, but may sell said spirituous liquors in
quantities as great as or less than one quart at any one time, unless, said
licensee shall also have a license (granted as hereinbefore prescribed) to
sell "spirituous and fermented liquors by retail," under Article 56, Sec-
tions 55 to 66,* inclusive, of the Code of Public General Laws. No per-
son having a license to sell spirituous or fermented liquors by retail under
said Article 56, Sections 55 to 66, inclusive, shall sell spirituous or fer-
mented liquors or lager beer in quantities less than one pint, at any time,
unless he or she shall have the lager beer saloon, oyster house or liquor
license herein provided for. No license under this Act shall be issued
for a longer period than one year, and all licenses shall expire on the
1st day of May in each year, and all applications shall be filed as here-
inbefore provided for, but no licenses shall be issued before the 1st day
of May in each year, and any license may be transferred or assigned under
the provisions of this Act. Any licensee or his personal representatives or
attorney may assign the unexpired term thereof to another; provided,
that said assignee shall comply with all the requirements and provisions
of this Act, in the same manner as is hereby required of an original ap-
plicant for a license under this Act, and, upon such transfer, the license
so transferred shall have the consent of the Clerk of the Circuit Court
for Allegany County endorsed on said license, and such assignee shall in
every respect be subject to all the requirements, provisions and penalties
of this Act, and also of all privileges and benefits hereby conferred; and
the court shall have the power to consider remonstrances thereto, and allow
or disallow such assignments as the court is herein authorized to allow or
reject original applications. No lager beer or malt liquors sold in Alle-
gany County shall be sold by the bottler thereof in quantities less than
one dozen pints, unless such bottler shall have first been granted a regular
saloon or oyster house license under the provisions of this Act; nor shall
any bottler sell lager beer or malt liquors in any quantities to be drunk
on the premises, unless he, she or they shall have first been granted a
saloon or oyster house license under this Act. No person having a license
to sell spirituous or fermented liquors by retail under Article 56, Sec-
tions 55 to 66, inclusive, of the Code of Public General Laws, shall sell
