PREFACE.
The purpose of this Supplement is to bring the Annotated Code of
Maryland down to date. The Supplement was legalized and made evi-
dence of the law by the Act of 1929, ch. 422. It includes (1) the Public
General Laws of 1927 and 1929, and (2) annotations of all decisions in
144 to 155 Md., 263 to 277 U. S., 68 to 72 L. Ed., and 297 Fed. to 29
Fed. (2nd Series), all inclusive, construing or referring to" Public General
Statutes or the Maryland Constitution.
New sections are lettered; otherwise there is no change in the number-
ing of the sections. Where there are annotations of a section which was
not amended, enacted or repealed in 192Y or 1929, the number of that
section is printed, followed by the notes. An effort has been made to call
attention to cases where a statute has been amended subsequent to a deci-
sion, but attention should be given this matter by those using the book.
The annotations in Volume 1 Or Volume 2, as the case may be, should, of
course, be consulted, as well as those in this Supplement.
Tables of the Acts of 1927 and 1929 appearing in this Supplement will
be found in the Appendix preceding the Index.
The Editor desires to express his appreciation of the invaluable aid
rendered him in the preparation of this book by Dr. Horace E. Flack,
Head of the Department of Legislative Reference of Baltimore City.
Grateful acknowledgment is also made of the assistance of Misses Vir-
ginia F. McGuire, Ella S. Hitchcock, Nellie M. Webster, Margaret E.
Coonan and Teresa H. Kline.
GEORGE P. BAGBY.
