Protests against the leasing of such bottoms after the 3-year additional
period shall be filed in the regular way, as now provided by law. 1

129. It shall be lawful at any time after the closed season for taking;
oysters, to take oysters from such natural beds or bars in Chesapeake Bay
as the Commissioner may mark out for that purpose, and at such time as
the Commission may designate, but not to exceed one month in any one
year and under such regulations as said Commissioner may from time to
time prescribe; and, provided, however, that said oysters may be sold only
for the purposes now permitted under the existing laws of Maryland, dur-
ing the season of the year above mentioned; and in addition thereto, to
persons engaged in the industry of planting and cultivating oysters within
the area designated by this sub-title, the same to be delivered only upon
lands which may have been leased under the provisions of this sub-title for
said purposes of planting or cultivation. 2

Advisory Committee on Oysters.

155A. There shall be a committee of three persons to be known as the
Advisory Committee on Oysters, who shall be men of practical knowledge
and experience, engaged in the oyster business. One member of said Com-
mittee shall be a resident of each of the three Districts into which the
Tidewater Counties shall be divided, as hereinafter prescribed. Said
Counties shall be divided into three zones to be known as Districts, as fol-
lows: District No. 1, consisting of Kent, Queen Anne's and Talbot Coun-
ties; District No. 2, consisting of Dorchester, Wicomico and Somerset
Counties; District No. 3, consisting of St. Mary's, Calvert, Anne Arundel
and Charles Counties. The members of the Advisory Committee shall be
appointed by the Governor and shall serve for four years from June 1,
1927, and until their successors are appointed and qualified, at such salary
as the Governor may fix, the said salary to be paid out of the Conservation-
Fund until such time as the Governor shall provide for same in the Budget.
Vacancies in said Committee shall be filled by the Governor in the same-
manner as the original appointments.

The Advisory Committee on Oysters shall advise and work with the Con-
servation Commissioner in the buying of shells and oysters for planting,
shall supervise planting and shall suggest and recommend places and bars,
in the tributaries of the Chesapeake Bay as well as in the Bay itself, where
planting is most needed. On request of said Committee, or any of them,
the Conservation Commissioner, shall have power to order the local Boats
of the State Fishery Force, with the Deputy Commanders, to be placed at
its or his disposal for use in its work. Said Committee shall also suggest
and recommend the best time and season for planting, each member of
