and directed to employ such number of additional clerks as may be neces-
sary to properly keep the dockets and records of arrests and convictions.
Such records shall be kept in such form and under such plan as may be
jointly agreed upon by the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles and the Jus-
tices of the Peace of the Traffic Court. Salaries paid to police and all
clerks assigned for duty in the Traffic Court shall be paid by the Police
Commissioner out of the funds received for that purpose from the Com-
missioner of Motor Vehicles. There shall be one chief clerk, who shall
receive the salary of two thousand two hundred dollars per annum, pay-
able monthly, and who shall have general charge and supervision of the
entire clerical force of the Traffic Court, and there shall be one deputy
clerk assigned to each of the sitting Magistrates who shall receive the
salary of two thousand dollars per annum, payable monthly, there shall
also be such other or additional clerks as may be necessary to properly
keep the records and accounts of the Court. The Deputy clerk assigned
to each of the several magistrates shall collect and take charge of all fines,
penalties, forfeitures, fees and costs imposed by the Magistrate to whose
court he is assigned, and he shall account for all such moneys collected by
him at the close of the session each day to the Chief Clerk. The latter
shall account at least once a week to the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles
for all fines, forfeitures, penalties, fees and costs collected by the Traffic
Court. The Chief Clerk, before entering upon the duties of his office,
shall cause to be executed and delivered to the State of Maryland a good
and sufficient bond with surety or sureties to be approved by the Chief
Judge of the Supreme Bench of Baltimore City, in the penalty of ten
thousand dollars, conditioned to truly and faithfully discharge, execute
and perform all and singular the duties and obligations of his office, and
that he will account for and pay over to the Commissioner of Motor
Vehicles all fines, penalties, forfeitures and costs for which he is bound to
account and pay over to the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles. And each
of the deputy clerks assigned to the sitting Magistrates, before entering
upon the duties of their office, shall execute and deliver to the State of
Maryland a good and sufficient bond, with surety or sureties to be approved
by the Chief Judge of the Supreme Bench of Baltimore City, in the
penalty of five thousand dollars conditioned to truly and faithfully dis-
charge, execute and perform all and singular the duties and obligations
of their respective offices, and that they will account for and pay over to
the Chief Clerk of the Traffic Court all fines, penalties, forfeitures, fees
and costs collected by them. The several Magistrates assigned to the
Traffic Court shall not handle any funds of the Court and shall not be
required to give any other or additional bond than that required by other
Justices of the Peace under Section 624, Article 4 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland.

The Mayor and City Council shall provide suitable and proper quarters
for said Traffic Court in the station house of the Central Police District of
Baltimore City, or at such other place as may be convenient and suitable,
but in no event shall said quarters or location of the Traffic Court be at a
