costs, and the remaining one-half shall be paid over to the state treasurer, to
the account of the state game protection fund, to be used by the state game
warden as may be provided by law.

20. No person shall shoot, trap, pursue, catch or kill, or gun or hunt
for any partridge or quail, English or Mongolian pheasant, American
pheasant, dark neck Bohemian pheasant, pheasant or ruffed grouse, rabbit,
wild turkey, woodcock or deer, within the State of Maryland between the
first day of January and the tenth day of November in any year, exclusive
of both dates, or any Squirrel or Dove within the State of Maryland between
the first day of January and the first day of September, exclusive of both
dates, or any squirrel between the fifteenth day of October and the tenth
day of November exclusive of both dates; provided, however, that nothing
in this section shall prohibit any owner or tenant of land from shooting
any squirrel on any such land between the first day of September and
the first day of January, both inclusive.

Nor upon Sunday, or when the ground is sufficiently covered with snow
to track the birds and game above mentioned. And there shall be a daily
closed season on all the above enumerated game birds and animals at
night time.

Provided, however, an owner or owners of a dog or dogs, male or female,
between September tenth and November ninth, exclusive of both dates,
shall be permitted to run or train a dog or dogs, provided he or she or an
attendant accompany it or them, but in so doing no person shall be allowed
or permitted to carry a gun of any description.

And no person or persons, corporation or corporations shall sell, offer
for sale, purchase or offer to purchase, barter, exchange, or buy at any time
within the State of Maryland any bob-white or partridge, (quail) or
Chinese Ringnecked Pheasant, native pheasant, or ruffed grouse, or wild
turkey, either dead or alive, excepting live birds of such species as may be
sold for propagation purposes only; and it shall be unlawful to sell, offer
for sale, purchase or offer to purchase, barter, exchange, or buy such
named birds at any time whether same are caught or killed within the State
of Maryland, or any other State, Territory or Country. And in order to
establish the Chinese Ringnecked pheasant in Maryland as an additional
game bird, it shall be unlawful to shoot or trap or kill or take in any
manner, at any time any Chinese Ringnecked Pheasant of any variety.
Provided, however, any incorporated game or gun club who may purchase
any Cock Chinese Ringnecked Pheasants from points outside of the State
of Maryland and import same to be liberated on their property, which shall
be enclosed with a fence not less than 6 feet in height, may kill said Cock
Chinese Ringnecked Pheasants by shooting during the open season on
upland game, as herein provided. Provided, however, such Chinese Ring-
necked Pheasants if raised in captivity may be killed on the premises where
