TERRAPINS—DIAMOND BACK.

1. Unlawful to catch or have in possession between first of April and Novem- ber; excepted counties. 2. Size of terrapin to be taken; closed season; may have in possession; ap- plicable to certain counties only. 3. Unlawful to destroy terrapin eggs. 4. Bona fide residents only may catch.

5. Penalty for violating preceding sec- tions. 6. Possession to be conclusive evidence of violation. 7. Constables, game wardens and officers of state fishery force shall arrest of- fenders on information. 8. Saving as to prior offenses.

1. It shall'be unlawful for any person to take or catch or have in
possession in this State any terrapin between the first day of April and the
first day of November in each year; the term terrapin to apply to those
known as diamond back or salt water terrapin, skilpot and sliders. This
section shall not apply to Worcester, Somerset,' Dorchester, Calvert, Charles,
Wicomico and St Mary's counties.1

2. It shall be unlawful for any person to take or catch or have in
possession in this State any terrapin of a less size than five inches in
length on the bottom shell, and no person shall take or catch any diamond
back or salt water terrapin between the first day of May and the first
day of July in each year. This Section to apply to Worcester, Dorchester,
Wicomico and Somerset Counties; and provided that any bona fide dealer
or dealers may have terrapin in their possession during said closed season.

3. It shall be unlawful for any person to interfere with or in any
manner destroy terrapin eggs.

4. None but bona fide residents of this State shall take or catch terrapin
therein.
