LICENSES. 2001

Fees for Registration of Motor Vehicles.

An. Code, sec. 141. 1916, ch. 687. 1918, ch. 85, sec. 141. 1920, ch. 506, sec. 141.

182. The following fees shall be paid per annum to the Commissioner
of Motor Vehicles for the markers and certificates of registration issued
by him in accordance with the provisions of this sub-title.1

Class A. Sixty cents per horse-power or fraction thereof in the case of
all motor vehicles having pneumatic tires, with a minimum charge of Ten
Dollars ($10.00) for any motor vehicle.

Class B. For each motor vehicle equipped with solid tires and having
a rated carrying capacity of not more than one ton, Twenty Dollars
($20.00) ; of not more than 2 tons, Forty Dollars ($40.00) ; of not more
than 3 tons, Sixty Dollars ($60.00).; of not more than 4 tons, One Hun-
dred Dollars ($100.00) ; of not more than 5 tons, One Hundred and
Fifty Dollars ($150.00) ; of not more than 6 tons, Three Hundred Dol-
lars ($300.00) ; of not more than 7 tons, Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00).
Whenever the rated carrying capacity is a fraction of a ton in excess of
any of the above figures, the vehicle shall be rated at the next higher full
ton carrying capacity. For electric solid tired vehicles, one-half the above
fees shall be charged.

Class C. Five Dollars ($5.00) per annum for each motor cycle. Three
Dollars ($3.00) per annum for each side car attached to a motor cycle.
Three Dollars ($3.00) per annum for each bicycle with motor attachment.

Class D. Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00) for the first two sets of regis-
tration tags or markers issued each manufacturer or dealer in motor ve-
hicles other than motor cycles, and Fifteen Dollars ($15.00) for each
additional set of registration tags issued such manufacturer or dealer.
Such registration tags shall be interchangeable among the cars owned or
used by such manufacturer or dealer during the current year in which
issued. Three Dollars ($3.00) per annum for each additional special
set of registration tags issued each manufacturer or dealer in motor ve-
hicles to be used only on new vehicles being brought under their own
power from a factory to a dealer in this State, which special tags shall
not be used in any other way. No such dealer's tags shall be used on any
car engaged in transportation for hire or livery business.

Class E. Twenty Dollars ($20.00) per annum for each four registra-
tion tags issued a dealer in motor cycles and Five Dollars ($5.00) for
each additional tag issued such dealer, such tags to be interchangeable as
in case of dealers in other motor vehicles.

Class F. One Dollar and twenty cents ($1.20) per horse-power or
fraction thereof in the case of all motor vehicles operating for the pur-
pose of transporting persons for hire upon any of the public highways of
this State other than motor vehicles operating on fixed schedules, the regis-
tration fees of which are fixed by other specific provisions of law, and
provided that said charge shall be in lieu of all other taxes, fees or charges
