fession of embalming on proper cause and after full hearing of all parties
in interest. All persons receiving such license to practice embalming in this
State who shall register before said board as provided in this sub-title shall
also register such fact at the office of the Board of Health in the city or
county in which he or she proposes to practice said profession of embalming.

302. No license granted or issued to practice the profession of embalm-
ing under the provisions of this sub-title shall be assignable or transferable,
and every license shall specify by name the person to whom it is issued.

303. The duties of an embalmer and the profession of embalming as
referred to in this sub-title shall be and the same are hereby defined to be,
the thorough disinfection of the human body or any part thereof by arterial
and cavity injection.

304. Any person, persons, co-partnership or corporation who shall en-
gage in or hold himself, herself, themselves, or itself out as engaging in the
busines of Undertaking or discharge the duties of such employment as shall
engage him or her in the care, preparation for burial, and burial or ship-
ment of dead human bodies and the disinfection of the clothing and bed-
ding of such deceased person who shall have died from an infectious or
contagious disease, or the premises in which he or she shall have died with-
out having complied with the provisions of Sections 296 and 297 of this
Article and any superintendent or person in charge (in the absence of the
superintendent) of any cemetery or burial place, who shall permit any
other person then 1 a duly licensed Undertaker, under Sections 296 and 297
of this Article, to deliver for burial or offer for cremation the body of a
deceased person shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction
thereof before any Court of competent jurisdiction, shall be fined not more
than one hundred dollars, or sentenced to undergo an imprisonment for
a term not exceeding one year or both in the discretion of the Court for
each and every offense. Any person or persons who shall practice or hold
himself, herself or themselves out as embalmers in this State, without
having complied with the provisions of this sub-title shall be deemed guilty
of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof before any Court in this
State shall be sentenced to pay a fine of not less than fifty nor more than
five hundred dollars, or undergo an imprisonment not exceeding one year,
or both at the discretion of the Court, for each and every offense; provided
that nothing contained in this sub-title shall be construed to apply to bona
fide employees of a duly licensed embalmer, who are serving their intern-
ship, or the employee of any cemetery whose duty extends no further, or
any school of anatomy, medicine or dentistry, or to interfere with any
officer or employee of the United States or the District of Columbia in the
discharge of their official duties.2
