1. Upon the taking effect of this Act1 the Executive and Administra-
tive Departments, boards, commissions, institutions and officers of the State
Government of Maryland mentioned in this Act shall be organized, estab-
lished, continued or abolished, and shall have and exercise the rights,
powers, duties, obligations and functions, as herein provided.

General Provisions.

1922, ch. 29 (p. 40).

2. The Executive and Administrative Departments, boards and com-
missions of the State Government are hereby created or recognized and
continued as follows:

1. The Executive Department.

2. The Finance Department.

3. The Department of Law.

4. The Department of Education.

5. The State Board of Agriculture and the Regents of the University
of Maryland.

6. The Department of Militia.

7. The Department of Welfare.

8. The Department of Charities.

9. The Department of Health.

10. The Department of Public Works.

11. The Commissioner of Motor Vehicles.

12. The Conservation Department.

13. The Department of Public Utilities.

14. The State Industrial Accident Commission.

15. The Commissioner of Labor and Statistics.

16. The Department of State Employment and Registration.

17. The Inspector of Tobacco.

18. The Maryland State Board of Censors.

19. The Maryland Racing Commission.
