the egg pouch or bunion has been removed.

108. Any person, firm or corporation violating the provisions of the
sections of this sub-title " Crabs," shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and,
upon conviction before any Justice of the Peace in the County or City in
which he resides, shall be fined not less than $10. nor more than $100.,
in the discretion of the Court. Upon failure to pay the fine the convicted
party may be imprisoned for not more than three months, or until the fine
be paid.

109. One-tenth of all crab license fees provided by this sub-title shall
be retained by the respective Clerks of the Courts issuing same, and the
remaining nine-tenths, together with all fines imposed under Section 108
for violation of any of the provisions of this law, shall be paid into 'the
" Conservation Fund," and shall be disbursed by the Conservation Com-
missioner so far as is necessary in paying the expenses incurred by them in
the protection or propagation of the crab supply of this State, the balance,
if any, to be used in the discretion of the Commissioner for any of the
objects under its control.2

110. It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to take, catch or
have in his or their possession any hard crabs, other than one in the peeler
state, measuring less than five inches across the shell from tip to tip of
spike, or any peelers or soft crabs measuring less than three inches across
the shell from tip to tip of spike, nor shall any person or persons take,
catch or have in his or their possession any egg-bearing female crab,
known as the spawn crab, sponge crab, blooming female crab, or mother
crab, nor any female crab from which the egg pouch or bunion has been
removed, nor shall any person or persons take, catch or keep in floats or
in his or their possession any fat crab, or any crab known as snot crab
or green crab. The provisions of this section shall apply to all waters of
the State of Maryland, and any person violating any provision of this
section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall upon conviction be
fined not less than ten nor more than fifty dollars for each offense.

111. No person shall use any engine of any kind in or upon any boat
or vessel, while said boat or vessel is being used, or while said person is en-
gaged, in scraping or scooping crabs in any of the waters of this State.
Any person violating any of the provisions of this section shall be guilty
