1406 ARTICLE 36.

justices' docket, fifteen cents; for granting hawkers' and peddlers' license,
to be paid by the hawkers or peddlers, $1.00.

This section, et seq., referred to in construing art. 15, see. 1, of the Constitution and,
act of 1910, ch. 480 (creating the public service commission)—see notes to the
former and to art. 23, sec. 349, of the Code. Thrift v. Laird, 125 Md. 64.

The parties whose deeds are shown on a general alphabetical index must pay for
the work thereon. Peter v. Prettyman, 62 Md. 572.

An abstract company authorized by its charter to make and procure copies and
abstracts from the public records, must obtain such copies through clerk and upon
payment of prescribed fees. Belt v. Prince George's Abstract Co., 73 Md. 292.

This schedule of fees is not applicable to criminal cases, heard before a justice of
the peace. Robey v. Prince George's County, 92 Md. 158.

13. In all cases of appeals to the Court of Appeals, both at law and in
equity, the Clerk of the Court from which said appeal is taken shall
charge but ten cents per hundred words and no more for making up the
record of same, and when typewritten copies of any of the papers, or of
the testimony necessary to make up said record, are furnished by either
of the parties to said cause, or their counsel, the said Clerk shall charge
for that part of the record but two cents per hundred words for compari-
son, instead of the above charge, and no more.

14. The Commissioner of the Land Office shall be entitled to demand
and receive the following fees, to wit: For a special warrant, $5.00; for
a special warrant of escheat, $5.00; for a special warrant of proclamation,
$5.00; for a special warrant of resurvey, $5.00; for making out patent
for any number of acres less than one hundred, $5.00; for making out
patent for every one hundred acres above one hundred, one dollar addi-
tional ; for recording patent for every hundred words, twenty-five cents;
for every search, fifty cents; for examining every certificate of survey of
one hundred acres or under, $1.60; for examining every certificate of sur-
vey from one hundred to two hundred acres, $2.00; for examining every
certificate of survey of from two hundred to three hundred acres, $2.50;
for examining every certificate of survey for every one hundred acres over
three hundred acres, fifty cents; for examining every certificate or resur-
vey up to one hundred acres, $3.00; for examining every certificate of
resurvey of from one hundred to two hundred acres, $3.50; for examining
every certificate of resurvey of from two hundred to three hundred acres,
$4.00; for examining every certificate of resurvey of every one hundred
acres over three hundred, fifty cents; for examining every paper accom-
panying a certificate of survey or resurvey, twenty-five cents; for entering a
caveat, fifty cents; for filing every paper, ten cents; for every certificate
