any election in their respective counties and in said city, cause to be con-
spicuously and securely posted in one or more public places in each voting
precinct of their respective counties, or of said city, accurate sample copies
of the ballots to be used in such precinct, at the then approaching election;
such sample copies shall be printed on light cardboard or heavy sized
paper of dimensions and type of the same size as that used in printing
the official ballots, and one of them at least shall be placed upon the ex-
terior of each building in which the polls will be held, so that the same can
be readily seen and examined by persons passing on the street or road.

66. The Supervisors of Elections shall provide for each election pre-
cinct in the several counties and in the City of Baltimore a package of
ballots containing at least as many ballots as there are voters shown by
the last preceding registration in said precinct, and shall cause such pack-
age to be sealed and clearly marked on the outside of its wrapper with the
name of the precinct or polling place for which it is intended and the num-
ber of ballots enclosed. The said package of ballots shall be delivered to
the judges of elections with the ballot boxes, poll books, blanks and sta-
tionery, as provided in Section 6Y of this Article. The Supervisors of Elec-
tions shall also cause to be printed a surplus number of ballots equal to
twenty-five per centum of the total number of voters as shown by the reg-
istry books in any county, congressional, legislative or councilmanic or
other district, and said surplus ballots in the counties shall be retained by
the Supervisors of Elections and in Baltimore City, shall be delivered to
the Police Commissioner of Baltimore City, and it shall be the duty of
said Supervisors of Elections and the said Police Commissioner to have
said surplus ballots on the day of election in their charge, or that of an
officer designated by them, and to supply them to any judges of election
who shall then make requisition therefor in writing, stating their first sup-
ply of ballots has been exhausted or that for any cause the additional ballots
are needed. Said Police Commissioner shall receipt for all surplus ballots
delivered to him and keep a record of all such surplus ballots delivered by
him to the judges of election, and on the day after election he shall return
all ballots not so delivered to the Board of Supervisors of Elections of
Baltimore City. All surplus ballots shall be destroyed within ten days
thereafter unless the destruction thereof be stayed by an order of Court
pending a contest. The several Boards of Supervisors shall keep a record
of the number of all ballots printed in their respective counties or city, and
shall preserve the same for at least six months after the election for which
it was made.

67. The Supervisors of Elections of Baltimore City shall deliver to
the Police Commissioner of Baltimore City, not more than three days and
not less than one day preceding the election, the two registers of every pre-
cinct of said city, together with the cards of instruction and ballot box
