any deficiency, if any, shall be included in the succeeding levy and paid
over to the said Board of Managers of the Montrose School for Girls. Any
excess of per capita cost of maintenance over the said apportionment of one
hundred and thirty ($130) dollars shall be set forth in the biennial re-
ports of the Board of Managers of the Montrose School for Girls and
allowance provided by the Governor in the Budget Appropriations for the
ensuing two years.

633. The directors of said institution shall have, as to female juvenile
delinquents, all the powers and fulfill all the duties had and fulfilled by the
Board of Managers of the Maryland Training School for Boys; and the
provisions of sections 619, 620 and 621 shall be applicable to this institu-
tion throughout the State.
Maryland State Training School for Girls.1

634. There shall be established in this State an Institution known as
" The Maryland State Training School for Girls." The Maryland State
Training School for Girls is hereby declared to be a body politic and cor-
porate, and by that name and style, shall have perpetual succession with
the power to have a common seal and to change the same at pleasure; to
make contracts relative to said Institution, and to sue and to be sued, and
by that name and style shall be capable of purchasing, taking, holding and
conveying any estate, real or personal, for the use of said corporation, but
all properties so acquired or the proceeds thereof, shall belong to the State
of Maryland, and shall be held in trust for said State.

635. The Maryland State Training School for Girls shall be under the
management and control of a Board of Nine Directors appointed by the
Governor. The Board shall always be non-partisan and non-sectarian. The
number of women directors shall never be less than five. Three of the
Directors shall retire every two years. All vacancies shall be filled by the
Governor for the unexpired term. The Governor shall have power to re-
move any Director at any time for cause, upon giving to such Director a
copy of the charges against him or her and an opportunity of being heard
in his or her defense. Upon organization, the Board shall select by lot three
of its members who shall retire at the end of two years; three of its mem-
bers who shall retire at the end of four years and three who shall retire at
the end of six years.

636. The said Directors shall receive no compensation for their ser-
vices, but their necessary traveling and other expenses incurred in attending
meetings of the Board of Directors or other business of the School shall
be paid.
