259. All constables and police officers are required to visit all places
where they shall have reason to suspect gaming tables are kept, and to have
prosecuted all persons offending against the laws prohibiting gambling.

Graft—Prevention of.

260. No person' or corporation engaged in the business of building
greenhouse structures, selling fertilizers, insecticides, coal, soil, flower
pots, trees, shrubs, bulbs, plants, garden and farm implements, seeds or
any other commodities, necessary for the formation and maintenance of
public parks and grounds, cemeteries, baseball and athletic club grounds,
golf club grounds, country club grounds, hotel grounds, and country estates,
shall pay or cause to be paid, either directly or indirectly to any superin-
tendent, manager, gardener, foreman, or other employee, money or other
consideration, whatsoever as a present, reward, inducement, bonus or com-
mission on any bill of purchase, of the foregoing commodities which are
to be used in the formation or maintenance of parks, grounds, and estates
designated herein, and no superintendent, manager, gardener, foreman or
other employee shall ask for, demand, exact, require, accept or receive,
either directly or indirectly, from any person or corporation engaged in
the business of building greenhouse structures, selling fertilizers, insecti-
cides, coal, soil, flower pots, trees, shrubs, bulbs, plants, garden and farm
implements, seeds or any other commodities necessary for the formation
and maintenance of public parks or grounds, cemeteries, baseball or ath-
letic grounds, golf club grounds, country club grounds, and country es-
tates, any money or other consideration whatsoever on any .bill for the
purchase of any of the before said mentioned commodities.1

261. Any person or corporation violating any of the provisions of this
sub-title shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof
shall be punished by a fine not exceeding two hundred dollars, or by im-
prisonment in the county or city jail for a period not exceeding six months,
or both, in the discretion of the Court.1

Graveyard Desecration.

262. Every person, his aiders, abettors and counsellors, who shall be
convicted of removing or attempting to remove from any graveyard, burial
ground or vault in the State of Maryland any dead body which shall have
been buried in such graveyard, burial ground or vault, shall be deemed
guilty of a misdemeanor, and shall be sentenced to the penitentiary for not
less than five nor more than fifteen years, unless such person or persons
