are hereby authorized, subject to the approval of the Governor and the
Adjutant General of the State, to constitute themselves County Guards
of the county in which they may be serving as fire companies.

99. The Adjutant General, with the approval of the Governor, shall
prescribe such rules and regulations governing the duties and service
of such County Guards as he may deem necessary, and such rules and
regulations, when promulgated, shall have the effect of law. County
Guards, when approved as such, shall become subject to the militia
laws of the State.
Armories.
1918, ch. 143.
100. All armories owned by the State of Maryland, and all build-
ings occupied, leased or rented by or in behalf of the State for the, pur-
pose of organizing, training and equipping such State military forces
as may now or hereafter be authorized by law, shall be under the man-
agement and control of the State Armory Commission hereby created.
Said Commission shall consist of the Governor, the Adjutant General
and the Comptroller. Said Commission shall be vested with the man-
agement, care, control and maintenance of the armories and other build-
ings aforesaid, together with all power and authority necessary or desir-
able for such purposes, and with the right to make and enforce all rea-
sonable rules and regulations in connection therewith.
Nothing in the Act of 1918, Chapter 143, shall be construed to inter-
fere with or abrogate the duties or powers of building commissions and
committees created for the purpose of constructing and equipping
armories authorized by the laws of the State. Any monies in the
hands of or due to the Board of Trustees of the Fifth Regiment Armory,
shall be paid to the State Armory Commission.*
