guilty of a misdemeanor and subject upon conviction to a fine of not
less than ten dollars ($10.00) nor more than one hundred dollars
($100.00), or imprisonment for not less than ten days nor more than
thirty days, or to both fine and imprisonment.
Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicles.
1916, ch. 687. 1918, ch. 85, sec. 156.
156. No chauffeur or other person shall drive or operate any motor
vehicle upon any street or highway of this State in the absence of the
owner of such motor vehicle without his consent. Any person violating
any provision of this section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor
and subject upon conviction to a fine of not less than twenty-five dollars
($25.00), nor more than one hundred dollars ($100.00) or imprison-
ment for not less than 30 days nor more than one year, or both fine and
imprisonment for the first offense.
Any person convicted of a second or additional offense under this
section shall be subject to imprisonment for not less than six months
nor more than two years.
Discount to Chaffeurs Prohibited.
1916, Ch. 687. 1918, ch. 85, sec. 157.
157. No chauffeur or other person having the care of a motor vehicle
for the owner shall receive or take, directly or indirectly, any bonus,
discount, or other consideration for supplies of parts furnished or pur-
chased for such motor vehicle, or any work or labor done thereon by
others, or on the purchase of any motor vehicle for his employer; and
no person furnishing such supplies or parts, work or labor, selling any
motor vehicle shall give or offer any such chauffeur or other person hav-
ing the care of a motor vehicle for the owner, directly or indirectly, any
bonus, discount or other consideration thereon. Any person violating
any provision of this section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor
and subject upon conviction to a fine of not less than five dollars ($5.00)
nor more than fifty dollars ($50.00) for the first offense.*

Enforcement of Motor Vehicle Laws—Arrest, Bail, Trial and Appeal.

158. In case any person shall be taken into custody because of a
violation of any of the provisions of this sub-title, he shall forthwith
