or colony, the said officer or agent may cause the diseased colonies to
be destroyed in such manner as to prevent the spread of the disease.

74E. No colony of bees shall be shipped or transported into the
State for delivery to any consignee residing within the State, from any
State or foreign country having an inspector of apiaries or other officer
charged with the duties commonly performed by an inspector of api-
aries, unless said colony be accompanied by a certificate in writing
from such officer, stating that he has inspected said colony, and that it
is free from infectious or contagious diseases. Whenever a colony of
bees shall be shipped or transported into the State from any State or
foreign country not having an inspector of apiaries or other officer
charged with the duties commonly performed by an inspector of api-
aries, the consignee shall, upon receipt of said colony, forthwith notify
the officer or agent of the Board of its receipt, and the officer or agent
shall forthwith inspect the same. 'No transportation company or com-
mon carrier shall accept for transportation into the State or shall
deliver any colony of bees from a State or foreign country having an
inspector of apiaries, or other officer charged with the duties com-
monly performed by an inspector of apiaries, to any consignee residing
within the State, unless such colony is accompanied by a certificate
of inspection, as heretofore provided. No common carrier shall be
liable for damages to the consigee or consignor for refusing to receive,
transport or deliver such a colony when not accompanied by a certifi-
cate of inspection, as above provided. Nothing in this Section shall be
construed to prevent the transportation or delivery of queen bees when
not accompanied by brood or comb.

74F. For the purpose of enforcing this sub-title, the State Board
of Agriculture, through its duly authorized officer or agent, shall have
access, ingress and egress to and from all places where bees, bee prod-
ucts or supplies or appliances used in apiaries are kept. The State
Board of Agriculture may issue such rules and regulations as may be
necessary for carrying out the purposes of this sub-title, and such rules
and regulations shall have the force of law.

74G. Any person convicted of the violation of any provision of this
sub-title, shall be subject to a fine not exceeding ten dollars ($10.—)
for the first offense, to a fine not exceeding twenty-five dollars ($25.—)
for the second offense, and to a fine not exceeding fifty dollars
( $50.—) for any subsequent offense.
