Supervisors of Elections.
1.
The act of ,1916, chapter 426, incorporating the town of Bowie in Prince
George's County held not to violate the provisions of article 33, since the
election provided for in said act was not to be held under that article.
This act did not repeal any part of article 33 so as to affect the provisions
thereof as applicable to elections not provided for by said act. Johnson v.
Luers, 129 Md. 534.

The power is vested in the Governor to fill a vacancy in the office of
supervisor of elections both by this section and by article 2, section 11 of
the constitution. Truitt v. Collins, 122 Md. 530.

6. The Board of Supervisors of Elections of the several counties
may have clerks, with the consent of the County Commissioners, for
their respective counties, at such compensation as the said County Com-
missioners may fix. The Supervisors of Elections of the City of Bal-
timore shall have a chief clerk at a salary of two thousand eight hun-
dred ($2,800.00) dollars, and a deputy clerk at a salary of two thou-
sand two hundred and fifty ($2,250.00) dollars, and one assistant clerk
at a salary of two thousand ($2,000.00) dollars, and one deputy assist-
ant clerk at a salary of eighteen hundred ($1,800.00) dollars, per
annum. The said clerks, and in the City of Baltimore the chief clerk,
deputy clerk, assistant clerk, and deputy assistant clerk, shall be
appointed by the respective boards of supervisors, and shall be remov-
able by them in their discretion. In Baltimore City, the chief clerk,
deputy clerk, assistant clerk and deputy assistant clerk, with the
approval of the supervisors, shall from time to time., secure such tem-
porary assistance as may be necessary for the proper transaction of the
business of the office, but the compensation of such assistants to be paid
by the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, upon requisition by the
said Supervisors, shall not exceed the sum of two thousand ($2,000.00)
dollars in any one year.
