ARTICLE XCVL

UNITED STATES.

1. Consent to purchase of lands by;
deeds to be recorded as in other
cases.
2. Governor to convey title and cede
Jurisdiction where the land is
covered by navigable water.
3. Such land exempt from taxation.
4. State to have concurrent jurisdic-
tion.
5. Condemnation of land for such pur-
poses.
6. What must be stated In petition for
condemnation.
7. Petition to be verified by affidavit.
8. Publication of notice of petition.
9. Proceedings; jury; notice to owner.
10. In case of absence of Jurors; each
party to strike off four.
11. Oath of jurors.
12. Jury to summon witnesses, take tes-
timony and determine the com-
pensation.
13. Inquisition to be reduced to writ-
Ing, sealed and returned to court.
14. Confirmation by court; costs.
15. New Inquisition.
16. Statements in inquisition; title to
pass upon payment; payment
into court.
17. Jurisdiction.
18. Exemption from taxation.
19. Consent of the state given to pur-
chase land by United States for
forts, magazines, arsenals, coast
defences, barracks or other build-
ings; deed to be recorded.
20. United States may Institute condem-
nation proceedings.

21. Sections 17 and 18 to apply to cases
under sections 19 and 20.
22. Consent to acquisition of land need-
ed in the construction of road
from Washington to Gettysburg;
condemnation.

in Laurel, Prince George's county.

26. Jurisdiction over government hos-
pital for the insane in Prince

27. Jurisdiction over certain land in
Cumberland.
28. Jurisdiction over land now or here-
after acquired; period for which
grant shall continue; condition.
Exemption from taxation.
29. Jurisdiction over land for rifle
range.
30. Jurisdiction over cemetery in St.
Mary's county.
31. Consent to acquisition of lands for
custom-houses, etc.
32. Jurisdiction ceded; exception; pro-
viso.
33. When jurisdiction vests. Exemp-
tion from taxation.
34. Consent to acquisition of land for
forrest reserve; exception; pro-
viso.
35. Consent to passage by congress of
laws, etc., to regulate such lands.
