1490 MILITIA. [ART. 65

1908, ch. 103, sec. 30.

29. A naval brigade shall be composed of two battalions, each bat-
talion to consist of not more than three divisions. Five divisions shall
be composed of the following:

1 Lieutenant, Senior Grade.
1 Lieutenant, Junior Grade.

1 Ensign.

2 Boatswain Mates.
2 Quartermasters.

1 Master at Arms.

2 Gunners' Mates.
2 Coxswains.
1 Yeoman.
44 Seamen and Apprentice Seamen.

Total enlisted, 54 petty officers and men.

The minimum strength of a division shall be 36 petty officers

and men.

There shall be one division which shall consist of:
1 Chief Engineer, Lieutenant.

1 Past Assistant Engineer, Lieutenant, Junior Grade.
1 Assistant Engineer, Ensign.

3 Chief Machinists.

4 Electricians.

1 Chief Yeoman.

47 Machinists' Mates, who shall be appointed as oilers.
Water Tenders and Firemen.
Total enlisted, 54 petty officers and men.
The brigade shall be officered as follows:

1 Captain.

1 Commander.

1 Lieutenant Commander.

1 Navigation and Signal Officer, Lieutenant.
The staff shall consist of:

1 Surgeon, Lieutenant.

1 Assistant Surgeon, Lieutenant, Junior Grade.

1 Paymaster, Lieutenant.

1 Assistant Paymaster, Lieutenant, Junior Grade.

1 Chaplain, Lieutenant.
The warrant officers of the brigade shall be:

1 Boatswain.

1 Gunner.

1 Carpenter.

1 Pay Clerk.

1 Machinist.
The chief petty officers of the brigade shall be:

1 Chief Master-at-Arms.

1 Chief Boatswain's Mate.
