2 Farriers and Blacksmiths.

1 Saddler.

2 Trumpeters.
39 Privates.
58 total enlisted (minimum).

The maximum enlisted strength of a troop may be as high as
100.

2. A squadron of cavalry shall consist of:
1 Major.

1 Adjutant (First Lieutenant).

1 Quartermaster and Commissary (Second Lieutenant).
1 Sergeant Major.
4 Troops.
233 total enlisted (minimum).

3. A regiment of cavalry shall consist of:
1 Colonel.

1 Lieutenant Colonel.
1 Adjutant (Captain).
1 Quartermaster (Captain).
1 Commissary (Captain).

1 Chaplain.

2 Veterinarians (appointed, but are neither commissioned offi-
cers nor enlisted men).
1 Sergeant Major.

1 Drum Major.

20. The minimum strength in the different grades for a battery of
field artillery shall be as follows:

1 Captain.
